FFXIV Guide to Unlocking All Emotes (2023)

How to unlock all gestures in FFXIV, from quest rewards and grindables to which are exclusive to Mog Station or not.

final fantasy XIVEmotes come in all sorts, and for those who socialize in Eorzea, they're a big part of playing with friends or interacting with strangers without ever having to say anything to them.

Gestures are more in the forefront of mind for most gamers inFFX IVthan most other MMORPGs just because of how many there are, how detailed they are, and because they function as a sort of carrot on a stick for more socially focused gamers. Why talk to someone when you can pet or slap them? I don't know, but I love high fives with Roegadyns in the ass.

You start out with a lot of gestures, but there are almost as many unlockable gestures inFFX IVthat fall into your lap or you have to work hard to unlock them, sometimes following entire quest chains to get them. Also, some require you to purchase them with real money or are tied to the purchase of figurines.

Let's go over each unlockable emote inFFX IVin this guide, along with exactly how to unlock them. This includes emotes coming from quest chains, as well as where to start the starting quest and unlock requirements.

Oan odd gesture that doesn't fit into any of the categories listed below is the Fist Bump, which can only be obtained from a friend by using their campaign code for the Recruit-a-Friend campaign, which is perpetual. Its code can be found at the Mog Station.

FFXIV Gesture Unlock Requirements

The gestures below are listed alphabetically to make it easy to find what you're looking for. Those with books, tradeable or not, have the names of the books next to the names of the emotes.
